Please tell us about what do you do and how long you have been doing it.
I am an engine assembler on the production line, and I have been in my current role for about six weeks. As a new hire, I am eager to learn as much as possible about my role, the company, and manufacturing.
How did you get into your career in manufacturing?
I attended Pennsylvania College of Technology here in Williamsport for aviation maintenance. During my courses, I learned about the types of roles available at Lycoming Engines. After graduation, I applied to work at the factory.
How would you describe a typical day at work?
Throughout the day I mainly focus on one specific task on the production line. Every day I have the opportunity to learn new tasks and improve upon the tasks I have previously learned.
What do you love most about what you do for your job?
What I love the most about my job is that I’m able to apply what I learned in college to tasks I complete in my role every day. I see myself consistently learning and improving, and I’m proud of that. I am also proud that I am able to be a part of the team building Lycoming engines.
