Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week 2016

The second annual Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week took place from Oct. 1-7, 2016, drawing attention to the industry pumping $85 billion into Pennsylvania’s economy each year and offering amazing career opportunities across multiple sectors. The Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) developed the weeklong celebration to complement National Manufacturing Day on Oct. 7. Both initiatives are intended to promote manufacturing and change the public perception of the industry as antiquated with low-paying jobs.

Seeing 2,000 students truly engaged and interested in the manufacturing career opportunities that lie ahead of them gives you a great sense of optimism for the future; not only for the manufacturing industry in northwest Pennsylvania, but for the economy and well-being of our region as a whole.
